The SGA Involvement Fair was this week. You had the opportunity to explore several options for involvement on campus and in the community. What are you interested in doing and how will this fit into your schedule?

There are many opportunities in the city of Spartanburg as well as around Converse College. I want to be involved in both, but knew not to overload myself due to time constraints, which I am sure everybody is getting a taste of. I want to start working at Starbucks again. I would like to transfer to the one in Spartanburg. I looked at my schedule and am waiting until next semester to transfer. Because I am not currently working, I want to be involved with something else. I decided to take a position in the music school as the Freshman Representative to the Student Advisory Committee. This job is split between two freshman music students. We meet with the Dean of the music school monthly to discuss concerns, questions, or recommendations, dealing with the music school. This gives me a chance to stay involved without to much time constraint! It’s a monthly meeting, and it is something I am completely interested in! I would love to start doing voluntary work around the town of Spartanburg, but will hold off until I get used to my first commitment! After I feel comfortable with the first job, I will slowly add things to my list options and see what works best with my schedule.
